London Games Dance competition

The London Games Dance competition is widely known amongst young people, and every year many schools enter to try to win it. One of those schools was Hampstead, and tried their luck in the competition which was held at the London Coppa Box, part of the Olympic venues. It was split into 2 categories (KS3 and KS4/mixed).

Students create dances with a range of styles and special effects to accompany their dance and portray their theme. The dances are marked on: choreography, performance skills, technical skills and costume.

Hampstead’s team consisted of 12 students dancing in the competition; the girls said that “the competition was very intimidating because the dancers were very good’. Ms. Ande commented that the students were fantastic and were a credit to the school.

The dancers look forward to performing in their next competition.
