Arsenal Hub - Girls football!

Hampstead are taking part in an Arsenal Girls 5-a side football league where only specialist schools take part - only Hampstead are taking part in Camden! The competition lasts for 4 months. Year 7 - 9s started in September and finished by the Christmas holiday, whereas the year 10& 11 competition lasted two months from March to May. As the only school in Camden to be selected to take part in this league,
it is a phenomenal achievement and makes as all happy and want to thrive in our education as a specialist school and just overall an amazing school thriving and hungry for more education.
During the time in this league the students in the teams have had a chance to:
Talk to talk to players from arsenal
Play matches in the league
Talk to the players and discuss things and also have a little training session.
Miss Ande, the girls’ football team manager, stated that they are showing great progress through times of doubt and hard work. There have made great improvement in team work, communication and spirit. Most of them are training after school hours and they are getting better at the sport. The girls have shown that not only boys can play the sport but the girls can play, maybe even be better.’
The two teams of Hampstead School have met all star players from the female and male teams of Arsenal. They have spoken and have been given tips to improve their skill to an even higher level. They have persevered through injuries, tough stamina drills and hard mental workouts this has allowed them to achieve their goals.
